Telemedicine drone brings healthcare into your front room

Sampsel and UC professor Tamilyn Bakas explored new technologies with telehealth robots for independently living participants. Sampsel said the logistics and communications required to perform these tasks remotely drove her to think about how telemedicine delivery could be enhanced to reduce the disparity in healthcare regardless of where people live.

Drones can go a long way in bringing telemedicine services to a wide variety of fields. Drones navigate via satellite or cellular communication: The telemedicine drone has its own interface for communication with medical professionals.
