OPPO Reno 17 launches November 9 with three key camera upgrades expected

OPPO will launch its Reno 17 series, including the Reno 17 5G and Reno 17 Pro 5G, in China on November 9, 2026, according to TelecomTalk. The devices are expected to feature a redesigned rear camera ring and upgraded displays and processors, based on leaked specifications.

The Reno 17 and Reno 17 Pro will feature a redesigned rear camera ring, which leaks indicate is intended to highlight the primary sensor, according to TelecomTalk. Both models are also expected to launch in new, unique color options, the source reported.

The source reported that the Dimensity 8550 scores 2,429,134 points on AnTuTu 11 and 1,558 single-core and 6,283 multi-core points on Geekbench 6.

Under the display, the Reno 17 Pro is expected to use an LTPS OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and touch sampling up to 240Hz, according to TelecomTalk. The source reported that the screen-to-body ratio may exceed 95%, an increase from the Reno 16 Pro’s 93.4%. The base Reno 17 model is anticipated to feature a 6.5-inch LTPS OLED flat screen, with its refresh rate potentially increasing to 144Hz from the Reno 16’s 120Hz, according to the same report.

The devices are expected to differ significantly in processing power. The Reno 17 5G is slated to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, built on a 4nm process, according to TelecomTalk. Benchmark results cited by the source show the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 scoring 1,329,936 points on AnTuTu 11 and recording 1,270 single-core and 4,106 multi-core points on Geekbench 6.

The Reno 17 Pro 5G is set to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 processor, a 4nm 8-core chip launched in May 2026, according to TelecomTalk.

Both Reno 17 phones are expected to ship with ColorOS 17 based on Android 17 out of the box, according to TelecomTalk. The software update is anticipated to bring UI and animation upgrades, as well as new AI features, the source said. TelecomTalk also reported that ColorOS 17 will include an on-device AI assistant that performs tasks locally.

OPPO confirmed the China release date for the series as November 9, 2026, according to TelecomTalk. The source noted a discrepancy in one of its own passages that incorrectly listed the launch date as November 9, 2023, but repeatedly confirmed the 2026 date elsewhere.

The Reno 17 series is expected to succeed the Reno 16 lineup, which featured the Reno 16 Pro with a 93.4% screen-to-body ratio. The upcoming models are anticipated to adopt a design with smooth curves on all four edges and a slightly curved front display, moving away from a boxier form factor, according to TelecomTalk.

Global availability for the Reno 17 series has not been announced.
