Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Watch Ultra 2 tipped with brighter displays and charging upgrades
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra smartphone and Watch Ultra 2 later this year, featuring brighter displays and improved charging capabilities, according to recent industry rumors. The Fold 8 Ultra reportedly will offer peak brightness up to 2,600 nits, a 5,000mAh battery, and up to 45W wired charging, while details on the Watch Ultra 2’s display brightness remain unconfirmed.
These sources also suggest the cover display may offer Full HD+ resolution with a variable refresh rate between 1 and 120Hz, while the inner foldable panel could deliver QHD+ resolution with a similar refresh rate range. Regarding timing, PhoneArena reported that Samsung’s Unpacked event, where the Fold 8 Ultra may be unveiled, is rumored for July 22, 2026. Pre-orders could begin in the last week of July, with sales following in early to mid-August. For the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, claims of a brighter display and charging improvements have circulated, but no official Samsung announcements or credible reports with named sources have confirmed these upgrades.
