Flyability Cloud Solution – DRONELIFE
A Look at Flyability Cloud: Streamlined Data Sharing and Secure Collaboration for Indoor Drone Inspection
by DRONELIFE Staff Writer Ian J. McNabb
Swiss drone manufacturer Flyability recently announced a new, fully integrated cloud service for its Elios 3 indoor-focused mapping drone and software solution. DroneLife got up close and personal with the new offering on the floor of Intergeo, where Flyability demonstrated the system’s intuitive UI and easy access to data to Dronelife.
With Flyability Cloud, important information like flight plans, maps, and points of interest can be easily shared between all team members. Protected by multi-factor authentication, Flyability aims to protect consumer data in multiple ways. According to their website, “Our security protocols are continuously reviewed and strengthened, with future goals including certifications like ISO 27001 and SOC 2.”
After creating an organization, both the free and paid versions of the new software allow for unlimited members and an unlimited number of connected drones. The free version allows for up to 2 included inspections, whereas the paid model (called Cloud BASE) allows for up to 100 different uploads. According to the website, Flyability Cloud allows users to, “(q)uickly deliver your Elios 3 data to the right stakeholders with just one click. Each recipient can review the inspection outcome directly on the Flyability cloud viewer without needing to download and install any desktop application – all they need is an internet connection and a web browser.”
Other planned updates include adding allowing team members to collaborate on projects via the cloud using shared data and easy integration to preferred processing environments (for added functionality like inspection software) via API.
Igor Stapper, head of sales for DACH, (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) commented on the new solution’s advantages, saying, “This is perfect for service providers in time sensitive situations. Where previous solutions required physical flash drives or external cloud storage tools, with Flyability Cloud, one click on a link, and it’s the same data- much more easily shared and accessed.”
