Electric scooter maker Ather Energy has opened its second retail store in town.
The launch is being driven by a sharp surge in demand from Hyderabad since its first store opened earlier this year, the company said it set up the facility with Pride Motors at Mamatha Nagar, Nagole X Road.
The Ather 450X and Ather 450 Plus scooters are available for test drive and purchase. Interested parties can book test drive slots on the company’s website before visiting the experience center, it said.
Ravneet Singh Phokela, Ather Energy’s Chief Business Officer, said, “The demand for electric vehicles has grown significantly over the past few months. In Telangana, 7,500 electric vehicles, mainly two-wheelers, were registered in October. ”
With Telangana being a major market for the company, plans to expand across the state to meet increased demand and maintain momentum. In the coming months, “we are also considering expanding our presence in other major cities such as Warangal and Khammam,” he said.
Pride Motors Chairman M. Suresh Reddy said Hyderabad customers are extremely proactive in adapting to any new technology.
Ather Energy said in a press release that it is also investing in building charging infrastructure in the markets ahead of its launch. It has 17 fast charging stations across the city and there are plans to add 8-10 more charging points.
