Xiaomi’s Mi MIX Fold is an inward-folding smartphone just like the Galaxy Z Fold2

Xiaomi’s first foldable smartphone is here and, in contrast to the rumored Huawei Mate X-like design, it has a Galaxy Z Fold2-like inward-folding display. The Mi MIX Fold comes after Xiaomi teased a foldable smartphone two years ago. The device offers all the high-end functions that a flagship smartphone should offer. However, it lacks a high refresh rate.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold is equipped with an 8-inch display on the inside that can be folded up. It offers a resolution of 2480 x 1860 and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. There is no selfie shooter on the inside, which means it is an uninterrupted display. On the outside is a 6.5-inch 2520 x 840 90 Hz OLED panel. The company claims that the Mi MIX Fold’s hinge can withstand over a million folds with no problem. It comes with four stereo speakers tuned by Harman / Kardon. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888.
In the optics department, the Mi MIX Fold has a triple rear-view camera setup that includes a 108-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a new, self-developed 8-megapixel liquid lens that doubles as the 3rd -fold optical zoom lens and one lens acts as a macro lens. The 8 megapixel camera is powered by Xiaomi’s own Surge C1 ISP. According to the company, this chip can handle faster autofocus, better white balance, and higher dynamic range. It contains the largest battery of a foldable smartphone to date – 5020 mAh.
The user interface offers a dedicated “desktop mode” which turns the user interface into a traditional computer user interface instead of an Android user interface. The device should be available in China. However, there is still no word on the global launch. The device starts at 9,999 yuan (about $ 1,521). This is the cheapest for an inward-folding smartphone like the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Huawei Mate X2.
