Scooter Rider Dies In Accident | Pune information

Pune: A 40-year-old man riding a scooter was killed while his wife and son who were sitting pillion were injured when a speeding light commercial vehicle (LCV) hit their two-wheeler in the Talegaon Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) police area on Wednesday night.
Police said Navnath Udape, hailing from Navlakh Umbre village, his wife, Rupali (35), and their son, Aryan (9), were returning home on the two-wheeler at the time of the accident.
“The driver of the LCV, which was proceeding at a high speed, dashed into the scooter from the rear. However, the driver did not stop after the accident and fled the spot,” said an officer of the Talegaon MIDC police.
He said due to the impact of the crash, the Udape family fell off the scooter.
“Navnath died on the spot, while Rupali and Aryan sustained injuries,” the policeman told TOI.
The officer added that the driver also hailed from Navlakh Umbre village. He further said, “We have booked the driver of the light commercial vehicle under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304 (ii) (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).”
The police said they were looking for the driver and would take necessary action.
