Samsung Galaxy Buds2 vs. AirPods Pro: design

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Apple AirPods Pro Apple AirPods Pro

The designs of the Galaxy Buds 2 and AirPods Pro are completely different as they both take a different approach to how the earbuds should look and sit in your ear. The Galaxy Buds2 sits in your ear, but the AirPods Pro sits gently on it. Both can be tight and both can stay in while running or doing other sports. The earbuds can be swapped out for both earbuds, although AirPods require special earbuds, which means standard earbuds won’t fit on them, so you can’t just replace them with those left around at home.

The charging cases also have different designs. If you’re wondering which one will fit more in your pocket, it would likely be the AirPods Pro charging case due to its slimmer profile, but the Galaxy Buds 2 case should also easily fit in most pockets and pockets. The Buds 2 used to have a smaller case, but Samsung redesigned it to fit the Galaxy Buds range and made the battery a bit bigger too.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 colors

The Galaxy Buds 2 is also available in four colors: Graphite, White, Olive and Lavender. The AirPods Pro only comes in one color – white. If you want to further customize your AirPods Pro, we have a list of the best AirPods Pro cases available to choose from, but there aren’t many other options for changing the color of the earbuds themselves or the charging case.

Samsung Galaxy Buds2 vs. AirPods Pro: performance

Both earphones perform equally well on paper. Apple’s AirPods Pro are known to be among the best on the market, but Samsung is also considered the king of wireless earbuds and has been one of the top manufacturers for years. The Galaxy Buds Pro are excellent, as are the AirPods Pro. Both devices also offer similar functionality and features with active noise cancellation, transparency / environment mode and EQ settings.

If you’ve tried Spatial Mode on the AirPods and the continuity features, you may never want to leave the ecosystem, although Samsung has been working on similar features on its own devices for many years as well. Multi-device support is available on previous Galaxy Buds and the Buds Pro, but we don’t have any information on whether the new Buds 2 will support this by default.

Samsung Galaxy Buds2 vs. AirPods Pro: battery and charging

We don’t have the exact details about the AirPods Pro charging case and individual earbuds, but we know the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 are supposed to have better battery life on paper. The Buds 2 last seven and a half hours on a single charge with the ANC (Active Noise Canceling) turned off, while the AirPods Pro are supposed to last around five hours. Both are acceptable, but the Buds 2 even outperforms the AirPods Pro when ANC is on, resulting in five hours of battery life.

The Galaxy Buds 2 also comes with the standard USB-C port, while Apple is still sticking to the Lightning port. If you travel a lot or want to save on the many cables you may have with you every day, the Galaxy Buds 2 will win this round. It also has a quick charge feature that Samsung advertises as a “5-minute quick charge”. Wireless Qi charging is supported by both devices and the charging coil is located on the underside of their charging cases.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 vs. AirPods Pro: price

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is priced at $ 149.99 while the AirPods Pro is priced at $ 249. There are some differences between the two devices, one of the most important being device compatibility and support. Both devices are tied into their own ecosystems. So if you want to take full advantage of their functionality, you need to have the right device that supports each of these wireless earbuds. Samsung recommends Samsung devices and Apple recommends Apple devices.

The AirPods Pro are one of Apple’s most advanced wireless earbuds. They have seamless connectivity to Apple devices and provide an overall great listening experience for Apple users.

Fortunately, Samsung can see that there are other devices in the world and it allows most Android phones to take advantage of most of the Buds 2 features as the app works on most devices. One audio codec is proprietary to Samsung, but the rest are supported by a variety of different devices and platforms. If you’re not in the Apple ecosystem, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 are excellent wireless earbuds, but if you dig deep into the Apple ecosystem, Apple’s AirPods Pro may be a better choice because of the benefits you get with them.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 are the perfect training companion or your oasis of silence if you want to break away from the world, thanks to its 3-level ANC levels.
