Simple Energy, the domestic EV company, has released the test images of the flagship e-scooter Simple Mark 2. The Bangalore-based company has completed its first phase of the Whitefield factory. The factory will initially have a production capacity of 50,000 units. The company designed Simple Mark 2 and developed a digital model of the electric two-wheeler using SOLIDWORKS and CATIA applications from Dassault Systemes. The company intends to start production from June 2021 and shipments from September 2021.
Commenting on the vehicle tests, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO of Simple Energy, said, “We believe that the product should be the key to the transition from a regular scooter to an electric vehicle rather than building large factories, which is to come. Customers need a product that is revolutionary in every way and at the same time offers good value for money, which is our priority. “
“With Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform for cloud and branded applications such as SOLIDWORKS and CATIA, we were able to remotely and jointly develop a digital model of the entire vehicle with real-time simulation and real-time engagement for suppliers and production teams. Additionally, the community helps us connect with innovative global EV technology companies to understand, adopt, and adapt EV development best practices. “
The company has innovated the powertrain and software that make the scooter smarter than any other electric scooter on the market. The e-scooter will have the largest trunk the Indian EV industry has ever seen as the e-scooter was built from the ground up in India.
According to the product specifications, the Mark 2 is powered by a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, a range of 240 km in eco mode, a top speed of 100 km / h and an acceleration from 0 to 50 km / h in 3.6 Seconds. Other key features include a mid-drive motor, as well as a replaceable battery and a futuristic design. It also comes with smart features like a touch screen, on-board navigation, bluetooth, etc.
