Scooters And One Wheels

The scooter rental startup Bounce is cooperating with Park + for battery substitute infra

The electric scooter rental startup Bounce, which will launch its first e-scooter Infinity at the beginning of next month, announced on Saturday its collaboration with the parking solution platform Park + to set up a battery replacement infrastructure at more than 3,500 locations in 10 cities.

This intelligent framework will be available in locations such as shared apartments, key parking lots, shopping malls, corporate offices, among others, so customers can find the nearest switching station in their Bounce app or Park + app, the company said.

The exchange stations would function like a gas station. Bounce battery swap stations will have charged and ready-to-use batteries that customers can easily swap out for their nearly empty batteries in less than a minute, it said.

With this infrastructure, customers wouldn’t have to wait for the scooter to charge, worry about range, or think about charging it, Bounce said.

“Our goal is to have our battery exchange stations within one kilometer of your location. To make this possible, we have teamed up with Park +. This partnership is in line with our efforts to build battery swap infrastructure for over a million scooters over the next several years, said Vivekananda Hallakere, Co-Founder and CEO of Bounce.

Bounce will launch its first consumer electric scooter, Bounce Infinity, on December 2nd with the “Battery as a Service” option, the first of its kind in the Indian market.

“We are committed to rapidly expanding the charging infrastructure through our network of solutions in corporate parks, shopping centers and residential buildings,” said Amit Lakhotia, founder and CEO of Park +.
