Police seize e-scooters from customers in Grays metropolis heart and warn of fines for unlawful use illegally

Police confiscated an e-scooter from a busy city center – as officials reminded that the vehicles are only legal on private property.

The e-scooter was seized by police in downtown Grays, and officials say illegal use can give users ride points and a hefty fine.

A spokesman for the Essex Police Department Thurrock District Team said: “The Thurrock Town Center Team has confiscated this electric scooter from Gray’s Town Center.

“Remember that electric scooters are illegal on public roads or paths and will be confiscated without insurance.

“That’s 6 points on your driver’s license, a £ 300 fine and your scooter crushed.”
