Ola has started construction of the world’s largest two-wheeler mega-factory on 500 hectares in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu and will be operational by 2022.

The scooter will have a “removable battery, high performance and range”. According to a statement from Ola, the plant will roll out a scooter every two seconds, resulting in an annual production of 10 million vehicles.
Ola announced a MoU with the government of Tamil Nadu in December 2020 for 2,400 rupees. The land acquisition was completed in January of this year. Ola said, “The factory will embrace Industry 4.0 principles and be powered by Ola’s own AI engine and tech stack that will be deeply integrated into all of their systems.”
Ola added, “The company has already brought global partners and suppliers on board to bring its factory, which is believed to be the world’s largest scooter factory, into operation in the coming months.”
Ola Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd has acquired Amsterdam-based Etergo BV, manufacturer of electric scooters. Etergo has developed a fully electric AppScooter, which was first presented in 2018. The AppScooter uses replaceable batteries with high energy density to achieve a range of up to 240 km. It is also claimed to be able to accelerate from standstill to 45 km / h in 3.9 seconds.
The design of the Ola electric scooter is simple and equipped with LED lighting. The scooter has an OLA logo in front of the apron. Two storage compartments on the apron and a fixed utility hook for storage. The vehicle also has good storage space under the seat. The other functions of the Ola electric scooter are geo-fencing navigation and smartphone pairing. It comes with a 3 kW AC brushless motor and comes with three replaceable batteries. When all three batteries are charged, you can expect a range of almost 150 miles. The cost of the Ola electric bike is likely to be Rs. 1.35 lakh. The manufacturer does not reveal anything about the Ola Electric Bike.
