Okaya launches Freedum electrical scooters with as much as 250 km vary: value, specs and options | Automotive information

New Delhi: Okaya Group’s EV arm, energy storage solutions provider, has launched a new Freedum electric scooter. The two-wheeler will be available in several variants, including a model that offers a maximum range of around 250 km on a single charge, the company said.

Okaya Freedum will be the third electric scooter in Okaya’s product range, which already includes the AvionIQ series and ClassIQ series electric two-wheelers. The bike will be launched with lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries.

Okaya launched the Freedum electric vehicle at a starting price of Rs 69,000. However, the base model does not offer a maximum range of around 250 km on a single charge.

Okaya Freedum will come onto the market in four variants, consisting of low-speed and high-speed trims with a maximum range of around 250 km per charge.

Okaya said the company will manufacture its newest scooter at its manufacturing facility in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh.

Okaya Freedum will compete with Ola Electrics S1 and S1 Pro, Simple Energys Simple One and Ather Energys Ather 450x, along with other electric vehicles in the country.

Okaya’s plan for the future

Anil Gupta, Managing Director of Okaya Power Group, said that electric is the future and the company is best placed to offer quality value for money to every Indian.

The company plans to launch 14 new products in the current financial year, including a high-speed motorcycle and specialized B2B vehicles.
