NYC man Marvin Campbell dies after falling head on the bottom from an e-scooter

A Bronx man died after losing control of his electric scooter and hitting his head on the ground last month, police said.

Marvin Campbell, 45, was driving a Cycleboard Rover scooter in Bronx Park East near Waring Avenue in Allerton on the evening of October 27th when police said it fell.

The Wakefield man was rushed to Jacobi Hospital, where he died last week, according to NYPD.

Campbell was not wearing a helmet, police said.

Helmets are not required for e-scooter drivers aged 18 and over, but according to the city’s Ministry of Transport, they are “highly recommended”.
