Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 Leak Tips AMD and Intel CPUs with Start Window in April
Oh man, we have a ton of leaks for you guys today so let’s start with Microsoft as it looks like they are planning on updating the Surface Laptop lineup. How finally. We have a new report from WinFuture, which says that the Surface Laptop 4 will finally be available in the variants Intel and AMD. The design language will appear to remain the same, with a “sleek metallic build in a variety of colors to choose from”. For the internals, you can choose between Intel’s 11th Gen or AMD 4000 CPUs of the last generation. The AMD variants come with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of onboard storage. When it comes to Intel, you can actually use up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD. According to the report, the Intel model should have Iris Plus 950 built-in graphics, while AMDs will of course come with Radeon Vega graphics. After all, the Surface Laptop 4 should be available in sizes 13.5 and 15 inches with a Surface Connect port, a single USB-C and a single USB-A port. Unfortunately we don’t have any information on price tags, but we could expect this sometime in April.
Google Pixel 5a will reportedly launch on June 11th
Okay, let’s turn the headlight on pixels that are finally getting some traction. Last week we covered a new report from Jon Prosser saying we should expect new Pixel Buds in mid-April and a new phone on June 11, but he didn’t specify the phone. Well, this morning he updated that report and said that his source confirmed that the pixel we are receiving this June is the 5a. In this video we speculated about the likelihood of the 5a being leaked from OnLeaks recently. Given these leaks, we should have a 6.4-inch OLED display at FHD +, 5G, two cameras on the back with a 12-megapixel primary and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide hole, the same hole, expect the same fingerprint scanner on the back and the headphone jack. So again, it looks like Google is looking to update the Pixel 4a 5G with a new processor and updated internals, and it looks like they are getting rid of the smaller “a” phone as their flagship phone is now a smaller phone. So yeah, we should get more information about things like the processor, color options and more soon, stay tuned.
Yes, OnePlus 9 comes with a charger. Unfortunately, that’s one thing we’re worried about right now!
The OnePlus 9 Pro concept poses for cameras that rock the classic sandstone finish
If we talk about things we should be getting soon, let’s talk about the OnePlus 9, which is almost a week away. Yesterday we received the official start date for March 23rd as well as a first look at their Hasselblad partnership. Late last week, Tech Droider posted some pictures of a OnePlus 9 Pro concept built on the basis of all the leaks. Probably the hottest thing here is that he claims the sandstone finish is coming back on the 9 Pro, yaaaayyy … and with that concept we can see a lot of detail on the new camera module. This camera module supposedly consists of a 48MP primary, a 50MP, an 8MP, and a 2MP module as someone in this tech department really loves these macro lenses. And exactly this guy. Alright though, as we moved from concept to official details, a fan on a OnePlus forum asked if the 9 Series would come with a charger in the box. You know, because we have to take care of it now … To this, Pete Lau replied, not to worry about it, the OnePlus 9 series is bringing one. So yeah, we’ll keep you posted on all of the other OnePlus 9 updates as we get closer and closer, and we hope the charger isn’t just for the last year.
It will be two more years before iPhones bring a ‘Persicope’ telephoto lens
And finally, for the hottest news today, it looks like Ming Chi Kuo is the new King of March Madness because he takes his report as seriously as we’d like it to. In his last report, he describes the path for the next 3 iPhones and their camera modules, where he claims that Cupertino will introduce a periscope telephoto lens, but not this year. Actually, maybe not even next year as the report claims the 2023 iPhones. Previous reports from Kuo claimed that we should expect this to happen in 2022, but it looks like it won’t. On this “path for the next 3 iPhones” he claims that the 2021 iPhones will have an upgrade telephoto lens, which may be upgraded from the current 5 to a 6-element lens. When it comes to 2022, we should expect further improvements to the camera as well, so focus on the telephoto lens as well and upgrade to a 7-element lens system for the iPhone 14. Kuo also claims that Apple will launch a new FaceID transmitter for the 2021 iPhones that is made of plastic instead of glass. However, it is still not clear whether this design change will affect the benefits to the user, whether FaceID is that good, or whether it affects the design. However, this means that Cupertino is cutting costs. So yes, Cupertino will be tweaking their cameras slightly over the next 2 years, but it looks like the next big hardware update will be in 2 years.
