Man Charged With Scooter Theft

A man has been charged after a teenager was assaulted and robbed while riding an electric scooter in Gooyong Street, Kingaroy, last week.

Police will allege that about 8:40pm last Wednesday, a red Holden sedan pulled in front of the 17-year-old riding the scooter.

A person got out and allegedly punched the boy and stole the scooter.

Police later executed search warrants at Youngman and Prince street addresses.

A 19-year-old Memerambi man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 23 charged with robbery and possession of dangerous drugs, drug utensils and property used in the commission of a drug offence.

A 17-year-old Kingaroy boy has been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act for assault and drug offenses.

Kingaroy police are investigating an attempted home invasion in Fairview Drive.

About 9:35pm on May 31, the residents disturbed three people trying to gain entry to their home via a sliding door. When disturbed, the offenders fled down Nolan Street.

About 5:35pm on May 30, police were called to a Reen Street, Kingaroy, residence in relation to an unrelated matter.

While there, they allegedly located a 19-year-old Kingaroy woman and a 21-year-old Kingaroy woman in possession of drug utensils and cannabis. Both women have been charged with possessing drugs and drug utensils are will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 23.
