Ludhiana man attacked, robbed of £ 20,000, scooter

The 46-year-old victim returned from a friend in New Madhopuri around 8:30 p.m. when he was mugged by four men and robbed of his cash, cell phone and two-wheeler, police said

A 46-year-old man was beaten up and robbed of his scooter by four men £20,000 in New Madhopuri on Friday night.

The victim Mohammad Naeem, 46, from Gulabi Bagh told the police that he was having dinner with a friend in New Madhopuri.

After dinner, he went to his house around 8:30 p.m. Four men ambushed and attacked him on the way. After overpowering him, they grabbed his £20,000 in cash and on his cell phone before fleeing on his scooter.

When the robbers left, Naeem rushed back to his friend’s house and informed the police.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Joginderpal Singh, who is investigating the case, said he had registered a case under Sections 323 (voluntarily violated), 341 (wrongful restraint), 379-B (snatch) and 149 (any member illegal) Assembly guilty of the offense committed in pursuit of a common object) of the Indian Criminal Code at the Daresi Police Station.

Police are scanning surveillance cameras installed in the area for clues about the defendants.
