LG has been quite active in announcing new products lately. The company presented its very first gaming laptop just a few days ago and has now announced two new monitors in the run-up to CES 2022: the LG UltraFine display and the DualUp monitor. While the UltraFine monitor is an ultra-fine and traditional looking monitor, the DualUp monitor is not the normal monitor that you would expect.

The LG DualUp is neither a vertical nor a horizontal monitor – it’s somewhere in between. Instead of an aspect ratio of 16: 9, the DualUp monitor has a unique aspect ratio of 16:18. According to LG, this screen gives you “the same screen area as two 21.5-inch displays and has a vertical split view function that allows users to see more at a glance”. The company says this form factor can minimize lateral head movement that causes neck pain.

It has a resolution of 2560 x 2880 pixels and measures 27.6 inches diagonally. According to LG, DualUp covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color space and achieves a peak brightness of 300 nits. It even has a unique stand. The LG DualUp attaches to the included LG ergo stand, which can be attached to most desks. LG offers this monitor for video editors who can have the content at the top and the editing tools at the bottom in one large window. The LG DualUp does not support AMD FreeSync.

The LG UltraFine Display is the normal looking high-end monitor from LG. It’s the traditional 32-inch 4K UHD monitor with a more conventional aspect ratio, and it’s the company’s first to use LG’s new Nano IPS black panel technology. Thanks to this new technology, the UltraFine display has a contrast ratio of 2,000: 1. It offers a peak brightness of 400 cd / m² and also has AMD FreeSync. Both monitors have a number of ports on the back, such as USB-C, DisplayPort, and two HDMI ports.

LG plans to reveal more about these monitors at CES 2022 on January 4th. It’s not known if the company is planning a physical event at this point as many, including T-Mobile, Meta, Twitter, and even Amazon, are holding their CES 2022 physical press event due to the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID. have canceled -19.
