La Jolla financial institution robber makes escape on scooter – NBC 7 San Diego

A crook who robbed a bank in La Jolla made an unusual escape on Wednesday.

The bank robber – wearing a black hat, black face mask, red and black flannel shirt, and dark pants – confronted a cashier in the Chase branch on the 8800 block of Villa La Jolla Drive shortly before 3 p.m. and asked for cash for a press release the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force in San Diego.

After the clerk handed over an unknown amount of money, the robber left the bank and was last seen heading west on a scooter.

Investigators said the man was about five feet tall, of medium height and had brown eyes.
