Is Google Pixel Fold coming anytime quickly? Steam Deck Introduced & Extra! (Video)

The official news starts with deals today, and let me just say no one does deals like Samsung. I mean, their trade-in deals are still going on for every device you can think of. Starting with the S21 series, the S21 5G is still available for 99 dollars, the S21 + for 200 or the S21 Ultra for 400 dollars. And hey, if you’re looking for a foldable Galaxy Z Fold 2, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is still available for just $ 900, but you need to have a suitable device to trade in all of those devices. If you’re into really expensive headphones, the AirPods Max have just hit a new low. Again. With a discount of $ 83, they stay at $ 465. Why not $ 350 at this rate and call it Apple a day. Anyway, if regular-price headphones are your jam, the Jabra Elite 85hs are still one of my favorites, they’re waterproof and $ 100 cheaper which means you can get them for $ 150. Now this is a good buy. After all, the Nokia 8.3 5G costs $ 200, so you can grab it for $ 400. For the first time in a minute, let’s get and hold the focus on Huawei because this is good news for anyone outside of China. The company obviously seems to be having a tough time getting the P50 series out this year. We all know that these haven’t been the best for them in the past few years after they were banned from the US, and on top of that, we’re also experiencing a global chip shortage, which is why they are no longer able to produce enough of their Kirin 9000 chips. Well, according to a new report from the GSM Arena, Huawei could use Qualcomm chips for the P50 series. And I know what you think, how would Qualcomm deliver these chips with the trade ban for Huawei, but it turns out that there is a loophole here. Huawei is banned from using 5G technology from companies like Qualcomm that they actually helped develop, but they can still use the LTE variant of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, at least for the regular P50 model. Apparently they have enough Kirin 9000 chips for the Pro model to hold out until December, but after that they would have to resort to 4G Qualcomm chips. According to reports, we can expect the P50 series in August with an interesting design, but let’s see how they do it. With Honor developing Google apps and Snapdragon phones, this may be the first step in Huawei’s comeback. We will see. But well, how about we move into the unexpected by talking about Steam. After months of speculation, the company took to Twitter to announce that they will be releasing the Steam Deck. They describe it as “high performance, portable PC gaming that starts at 399”. It was designed by Valve and operated by Steam and will ship this December. Apparently we’re getting three different tiers based on storage, with the first getting 64 Gig eMMC storage, but then the other 2 tiers bringing up to 512 Gig NVMe SSD. I know it’s like they really don’t want you to go 64 gigs because the speed differences are big, but yeah you can use an SD card. Their website claims that the deck brings Steam games and features into a powerful and convenient form factor that is actually made up of a 7-inch touchscreen, multiple trackpads, and gyro controls. Valve is working with AMD to create a custom APU to optimize the deck for handheld gaming, but you can dock it like the Switch, which allows for more power, external displays, and USB peripherals. Well the website doesn’t make it too clear if these games are being streamed, but they do mention that they run the latest triple-A games and actually do this pretty well with no difference in frame rates or performance between the 3 levels. You can expect it to start at 399 in December and hope that like the Switch it can be disruptive in a less walled garden. But guess what, we can continue with the unexpected. Let’s stick with more official news and talk again about Windows, which isn’t too common for this show. You see, Microsoft just had its Inspire Live event that just announced Windows 365, the company’s first subscription-based Windows operating system. If you don’t know how it works, think of Google Stadia, where you can “stream your games” with the only requirements being a subscription and a stable internet connection. Well, Windows 365 lets you stream Windows pretty much over a stable connection, giving you the full Windows experience that can be customized like a PC, too. Users can choose how much storage and RAM they get on their cloud PC and configure it however they want, with the maximum storage being half a terabyte and up to 16 gigabytes of RAM. The good thing is that it can be run on any device via a browser and gives you an “instant start” experience with a full Windows experience. So just think about doing real work on your iPad during the day, but then making it your media device for the rest. Microsoft also says that the stored data travels through their network and is encrypted by default. Windows 365 will be available on August 2nd, according to their website, so users can enjoy Windows 10 or 11, but there’s a catch. The simplest 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will cost you $ 31 per month. How oh man .. everything went well. Good luck Microsoft. Finally, for today’s hottest news, let’s get back to Google and its Pixel devices, but this time we’re not going to talk about the Google Pixel 6 I don’t want to be left behind in this realm. I mean, we’ve even seen the company take Android seriously since the previous Google I / O to aid it. Well, according to a new report from Elec, Samsung’s Ultra Thin Glass will finally be available for widespread use in the second half of 2021, which means we should get more information on upcoming foldables from companies like OPPO, Vivo and Google. Speaking of foldable devices to come, previous rumors suggested that at least one of them will be Google’s Passport. And, in fact, the report doesn’t give too much information on it, but it does show that the Google Pixel Fold, aka Passport, could come with a 7.6-inch display, and that’s also in line with the information we provide with previous reports. Other leaked documents from Google, already surfacing last August, claimed that Google plans to release this foldable device in the fourth quarter of 2021, and the fact that Samsung is ready to ship these displays only adds further confirmation to the matter added. We don’t have a lot of information about the Pixel Fold yet, aside from the display size, but even if there aren’t any design leaks, Google is the one actually enabling the software for foldables.
