Improve in scooter and bike thefts in Padiham

Police are asking people to check their CCTV is working following a spate of scooter and motorbike thefts.

Officers say that they have had an increased number of people reporting their scooter or motorcycle being stolen at Padiham.

They are now appealing to owners to make sure any CCTV or security lights they have is working properly and if possible to secure the bike in a secure area.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Unfortunately over recent weeks we have been receiving increased reports of scooters and motor bikes being stolen during the night around the Padiham area.

“Please can motorbike owners check CCTV is working, if covered by security lighting check its working correctly and if possible secure the bike in gated areas or in secure garages.

“Should anybody see anybody acting suspicious then please 101 or 999 in an emergency.”
