Honda Motorbike and Scooter India Kickstarts Spherical 1 of IDEMITSU Honda India Expertise Hunt 2022

Round 1 comprised of three levels of testing

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) kickstarted its hunt for young racing talent yesterday by conducting round 1 of IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt 2022 at Aruani Gridin, in Bengaluru. The first round saw the participation of 9 amateur riders from 5 different cities – Chennai, Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Malappuram and Lucknow.

In the first round, all 9 riders were subjected to 3 levels of tests. While the first level comprised rigorous physical fitness sessions, the second round comprised of judging their riding skill and maneuverability on the racetrack. The third level comprised of one-on-one interviews with candidates and their guardians to understand both the parties and their commitment and passion for the sport.

After phase 1, the top candidates will be trained and promoted to ride on the track. These phase of the talent hunt will most probably be taking place in the Kari Speed ​​Motorway, but nothing was mentioned in the press release. The shortlisted final riders from this phase will get the opportunity to race in the ongoing 2022 IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup CBR 150R category.IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt 2022 saw participation from 9 riders

Speaking on the occasion of this event was Mr Prabhu Nagaraj, Senior vice president, Brand and communication, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, Pvt. ltd He said, “The IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt is a platform developed by Honda that gives an avenue to aspiring and budding racers from all over India to unleash their potential on racetrack. We have kicked off the 2022 hunt for next-gen racing sensation from Bengaluru and shortlisted candidates will be participating in the next level. The best of these riders will get an opportunity to ride and compete in 2022 season of IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup CBR150R.

“In the long term, Honda’s focus is to put young Indian talent on multiple National and International platforms like Asia Talent Cup, Asia Road Racing Championship, Endurance Championships. I am confident that these budding riders will change the motorsport scenario in India and make the nation proud both at national as well as international leve,” he added.
