Scooters And One Wheels

Hero is now providing check rides of the Vida V1 e-scooter lineup

Hero MotoCorp’s electric scooter has been a long time coming as the market has seen the introduction of innumerable offerings over the past couple of years. The newly launched Vida V1 Plus and the Vida V1 Pro have built quite a bit of excitement since it’s the first e-scooters to come from Hero MotoCorp’s sheds.

Well, these two scooters are now available for test rides in select cities, while the company has also opened a Scooter Experience Center in Bengaluru. Two more such centers will come up across Delhi and Jaipur, the company said. The name Scooter Experience Center is pretty self-explanatory, enabling consumers to get an up-close look at the e-scooters before making up their minds.

The company said that these centers will assist customers with deliveries, which means it will act like any other two-wheeler or four-wheeler dealership across the country. There will also be events and owner community events at these experience centres. While the scooters are currently unavailable, Hero MotoCorp has said that deliveries will commence by mid-December.

Interested customers can currently pre-book the Vida V1 Plus or the Vida V1 Pro for Rs 4,999. Meanwhile, the entry-level V1 Plus has a price tag of Rs 1.45 lakhs (ex-showroom) while the Vida V1 Pro starts from Rs 1.59 lakhs. The more expensive Pro version is equipped with a larger 3.94 kWh battery while the Vida V1 Plus settles for a 3.44 kWh unit, offering a range of 165 km and 143 km, respectively.

The Vida V1 series will take on the Ola S1 range of e-scooters

Competing against the Ola S1 and the S1 Pro, the duo of Hero Vida V1 e-scooters will have some catching up to do. However, there’s plenty of excitement surrounding Hero MotoCorp’s first e-scooters among prospective buyers. The company will also benefit from the long list of retail outlets it has across the country. This could be a key factor in the widespread adoption of Hero’s latest offering.
