Google Pixel smartphones will get extra goodies in June Function Drop

One of the best things about owning a Pixel phone is that it gets new features every now and then with feature drop updates. Google released the June 2021 update for its Pixel devices. The update contains a number of functions, fixes and changes. The company is also releasing new Pride wallpapers, ringtones, and notification tones to celebrate the Pride month of June. As part of the Drop feature, Pixel phones get astrophotography in Google Camera, a new locked folder in Google Photos, the ability to answer or decline calls with the Assistant, and more.

The June 2021 update for Pixel smartphones brings many functions to the devices. One of the notable changes is the inclusion of astrophotography in Night Sight. It will help you get better photos of the night sky. However, this feature is only available for Google Pixel 4 and above.

The company recently previewed Locked Folder in Google Photos at its I / O 2021 keynote. Now the feature is being introduced for Pixel users. This new locked folder feature allows you to save certain photos in this folder for more privacy. “They’re stored on your device and won’t appear in any shared albums, reminders, or other apps on your device, and can only be accessed with your device passcode or fingerprint,” says Google.

Google Pixel phone users also get Pride wallpapers created by London artist Ashton Attzs. In addition, they will receive new Pride ringtones and notifications created by LGBTQ + artists and YouTube creators to celebrate the month of Pride in June.

In addition, the Google Assistant can now answer or decline a call using voice commands. To use this feature, say, “Hey Google, answer the call” or “Hey Google, decline the call”. In addition, GBoard now offers copied text suggestions for quick pasting into apps like News and Google Maps. The car crash detection feature in the Personal Safety app will also be rolled out to users in Ireland, Singapore and Spain.
