Google Pixel 6 comes with GOOGLE SILICON? (Video)

The official news starts with deals today, and don’t worry, we’ve verified all of this to be real. Let’s start with Samsung and B&H because that’s getting more and more aggressive. See, they currently have the Galaxy S21 + for $ 150 off, so it stays at $ 700 with free shipping. When you’re in New York and switching to Samsung.com I know it doesn’t feel like spring, but they are still doing their spring business. You can buy the Galaxy S21 for $ 200, the S21 + for $ 400, or the Ultra for $ 600. You can also buy the Z Fold 2 for 1200 or the Note 20 Ultra for 900, but all of this is natural if you are eligible.By the way: That Z Fold 2 now has a permanent drop in price of $ 200 if you don’t have a trade-in , and there is even a current owner referral program to provide additional discounts to any friend who wants one. At Amazon, the M1 MacBook Air is still $ 50 cheaper, leaving the entry-level version for 949. After all, the OnePlus 8 Pro is still $ 300 cheaper than its original price at 699. We have more deals on other OnePlus devices, SSDs, cases and more at the links below.

Let’s talk about LG now as I hate to say this, but this might be the start for the Ned. There have been several reports in the past few months claiming LG is leaving the smartphone market, but it looks like it is about to happen. According to a new report in the Korea Times, LG has reportedly entered a transition phase with employees moving from the smartphones business to other business areas. In fact, they got in touch with a company official and he mentioned that they would soon be making an announcement regarding “the direction of their mobile communications business”. If you’re wondering how soon, the report cites industry sources claiming they will make an official announcement at their board of directors meeting on Monday April 5th. We’re not going to speculate here as we’re so close, but it’s really sad to see LG go after all of the innovations they have brought. Folks, the LG G4 still has some of my all-time favorite photos. It’s really bad news when it happens.

Let’s put the spotlight on Sony as we have some new leaks for the upcoming flagship. A little over a month ago we got some leaks for the new design of OnLeaks, but we didn’t have a lot of other information to assume. Now we have some leaked specs from Weibo that reveal everything else. The Xperia 1 III is said to contain an HDR 4K OLED display with 120 Hz and a typical aspect ratio of 21: 9 from Sony. It is operated by the Snapdragon 888 with 12 or 16 GB RAM and up to half a terabyte of memory. It also brings a 5000 mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging, but no details about wireless charging are mentioned. When it comes to the cameras, we will reportedly get a 64-megapixel main sensor, a long one with a 12-megapixel wide angle, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens based on a periscope lens that provides 60x zoom, which is most likely digital. Sony has officially announced its event for April 14th. So stay tuned as this may be the first time I’ve really been tempted to try one.

Now that we know that Sony phones aren’t cheap, let’s talk about a cheaper product with the Nest generation iPhone SE. There have been several reports on how we’re going to get a refresh this year or next, but it won’t bring a new design. Well, we just got a new tweet from Ross Young giving us information about several future models. Speaking of next year, he claims it will still bring a 4.7-inch LCD display, with some rumors that it could bring both flavors of 5G. It gets interesting when he mentions hearing of a 6.1-inch variant that will come with a hole instead of the notch in 2023. If you haven’t been paying attention lately, reports from very trustworthy sources claim that Cupertino will finally start pounding holes either next year or in 2023, so it makes sense. Of course we are still very far away, but let’s see what happens, we should get the rumored SE + soon, right? Or hey I hope so ..

But finally, for the hottest news today, let’s talk about Google and Pixel. But no, it’s not a hands-on leak or anything like that. If you recall, there was a report last April claiming that Google had developed its own chip called “Whitechapel” for Pixels and Chromebooks. Pretty much what Apple has been doing with iPhones since the 4th, with iPads since Gen 1 and with the Mac since the M1. Well, a new report from 9to5Google claims that the Pixel 6 and Pixel 5a, codenamed Raven and Oriole, respectively, will be among the first phones to feature a chip based on this Whitechapel platform. Also, note birds for the code names now and not fish. To quote the report, “Whitechapel is an attempt by Google to create its own SoC, much like Apple did for Mac, iPads and iPhones.” You are apparently developing Whitechapel together with Samsung, which Snapdragon is already competing with in terms of Android phones. Now when I talk about Qualcomm I wonder what will happen to them as we know they had a great partnership with Google. I mean, the first Snapdragon debuted on the first Google Nexus One. The chip is apparently called internally GS101, where GS probably stands for Google Silicon. So when you think about it, it looks like Google wants to go head to toe with Apple when they think about making Android, they make the Pixels, they make the Chromebooks, they own the Play Store, and now they are they make the fries. If they pull an Apple, it can mean Chromebooks can run Android apps and the like better.
