Drone know-how innovation will ship emergency recordings on to the emergency response facilities
Thanks to drone innovation, a new techno marriage should give 911 dispatchers a life-saving view from above.
Public safety technology company Carbyne announced this week a partnership with Edgybees, a provider of high-precision aerial georegistration software. The new integration will help improve response time and accuracy in emergencies by delivering drone video footage in real time directly from the scene to emergency call centers and command centers.
Edgybees’ AI-centric software solution will expand Carbyne’s existing video image data set and enable high-precision geographic registration of each drone, which can then be broadcast to any application gateway port.
“Carbyne can receive footage from any connected drone and stream it directly to the 911 call center, which not only gives dispatchers and first responders an aerial view of the territory, but also provides additional important data points such as specific street names or traffic lights for localization.” “, It said in a media release from Carbyne.
“This unique approach generates detailed, real-time overlay of streets, major landmarks and other business-critical data in addition to live video feeds, so defense, public safety and critical infrastructure teams can quickly and safely conduct life-saving and urgent missions.”
Saving lives with drones
Carbyne President Erez Tsur said the improvements will help fill several operational holes that often plague emergency response systems. “It is evident that the outdated system needs improvements that will save more lives and simplify the method as a whole,” he said.
“Technological advances in emergency response, such as the integration of real-time video or even drone functions, are streamlining business-critical operations like never before. Carbyne is committed to working with Edgybees to increase the accuracy of our platform, improve lifesaving interventions, and achieve unprecedented location accuracy in the face of danger or disaster. “
Edgybees platforms have been used in several major disaster areas, including forest fires in California and Australia.
“The addition of real-time video, complemented by accurate geolocation of streets and major landmarks, brings a new level of visibility to operations centers with the Carbyne emergency collaboration platform,” said Adam Kaplan, CEO of Edgybees.
Set security standards
As drone technology continues to prove valuable to the public safety sector, government agencies are taking up with fresh funds. In April, the US Department of Commerce awarded the Airborne International Response Team, AIRT, a grant to help public safety programs set standards and training programs.
“The grant will be used by AIRT’s DRONERESPONDERS program to support the implementation of standard test methodologies for sUAS, developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to objectively assess the capabilities of aircraft that are trained on operations Focus on remote piloting skills and support pilot recognition, ”says a press release from AIRT.
