BMW begins manufacturing of its first electrical scooter, the BMW CE 04

BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle brand from BMW, has started production of its first electric two-wheeler, the BMW CE 04 Scooter. The company officially announced this development on its social media channels a few days ago.

In 2020, for example, BMW presented the concept model of the BMW CE 04 electric scooter. Full production of the scooter has now started. This new electric scooter has a futuristic design that reminds us of a science fiction Hollywood movie. The best thing about the electric scooter is that it has zero emission standards compared to fuel based scooters and it offers great performance for users.

BMW made it clear that the CE 04 electric scooter will be available in two variants – standard and avant-garde. The electric motor of the CE 04 electric scooter generates a maximum output of 31 kW (42 PS). On the other hand, the scooter can accelerate from 0 to 50 km / h in a period of 2.6 seconds. The maximum speed that can be achieved with the scooter is 120 km / h. The front wheels have a 35 mm telescopic fork for suspension, while the rear wheel is provided with pre-tensioned, adjustable monoshock suspension. The electric scooter’s wheels are 15 inches.

The BMW CE 04 electric scooter has a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 8.9 kWh and is built into the inside of the running boards. After a full charge of the battery, users can travel a distance of up to 130 km. With a 6.9 kW charger, the battery can be fully charged in just 1 hour 40 minutes. Meanwhile, a 2.3 kW charger takes 4 hours 20 minutes to fully charge the battery.

In terms of equipment, the BMW CE 04 electric scooter has a 10.25-inch TFT screen that, in addition to navigation, offers many connectivity features. The electric scooter gets LED headlights and taillights, LED turn signals and a USB-C charging port. Some safety features of the electric scooter are Dynamic Traction Control, Reverse Gear, Automatic Stability Control (ASC), Corning Anti-Blocking System (ABS) etc. However, we are not sure whether this BMW electric scooter will be launched in the market or not in India. BMW CE 04 is expected to cost around $ 11,800 for the base model.
