Bengaluru medical scholar dies after truck scooter scooter ANI

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India]February 7 (ANI): A medical student died on the spot after a speeding truck hit her scooter near Hennur Main Road in Bengaluru on Saturday. The accident happened while she was trying to avoid a pothole.
Tasdik Bushra, a 19-year-old girl from Bengaluru Medival College, died on the spot after bleeding profusely on the street. She was the resident of Lingrajpuram, Bengaluru.
Local residents and drivers beat up the authorities for failing to repair the broken road. Palani, a truck driver, was detained and charged with rash driving and negligence following a complaint from student father Syed Basheer.
Locals complained that if the road was in a passable condition, she would not have died. “It is the mistake of the authorities in the name of the smart city to bring the streets into non-motorable conditions,” said one of the residents.
Police said the driver had been charged with reasonable charges and that the officers would also be held accountable following the investigation.
BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad said that he was aware of the incident and that an investigation was being conducted into the incident. (ANI)
