ZAGG InvisibleShield display screen protector for Galaxy Z Fold 2: display screen protector

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is my main driver every day and I just can’t get enough of this amazing phone / tablet device. Samsung installed screen protectors on both the outside display and the large inside display. Some have removed the inner screen protector, but I haven’t been that brave and Samsung will supposedly replace this one when things go bad.

The exterior looks awful after a month, with scratches on the cheap protection. Fortunately, ZAGG has a solution for this outdoor display and has sent one of its InvisibleShield Ultra Clear Plus protectors for testing.

I couldn’t wait to remove the terrible Samsung protector that was scratched around the edges. Since this display is flat and does not extend to the edges at the front, it is a fairly simple surface for ZAGG to design a protection. The retail box contains the protection, a dust removal sticker, a disinfectant wipe, a squeegee and a microfiber cleaning cloth.

Old Samsung Protector

The protector installs like other InvisibleShield plastic protectors where you remove a piece of the cover and then position the protector on the display. You then start in the middle and pull the cover off the top half and then the bottom half to secure it to the display. It’s a little difficult to explain. If you’ve never installed one before, I recommend that you watch the installation video or read the instructions carefully as this is not an intuitive installation method.

There is no guide on how to position the protector so you really need to turn off the orientation of the front facing camera opening and both sides. I did well, but now that I’m looking closely I’m about 1-2mm from the left. The camera is still fully open and the protector covers the entire viewable area, but I wish I had just aimed it a little better.

New ZAGG protection available

The display surface feels a bit smoother when the protector is switched on. The clarity is not compromised at all and the display looks brilliant. Fingerprints easily appear on the screen protector, but they can also be wiped off. I’ve had the screen protector on for a few weeks and don’t see any scratches at all.

The ZAGG InvisibleShield Ultra Clear Plus screen protector is also treated with antimicrobial technology, so that 99.99% of surface bacteria are killed. This is always helpful in keeping your device clean. The protector is available for $ 29.99.
