UT research electrical scooter accidents in Nashville | information

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – Electric scooters remain a popular way to get around Music City. However, new research shows where most scooter accidents are likely.

The research comes from a professor and graduate student at the University of Tennessee who not only investigated the likely locations of crashes, but was also involved.

The investigation found that most of the drivers involved in an accident were on-site and lived outside of downtown Nashville.

Most accidents occurred when people came off sidewalks into driveways or zebra crossings.

The study focused on 52 reports of e-scooter crashes in Nashville over two years.

Another interesting note: when looking at these accidents, they found that alcohol was not a factor in most of them and that most of them occurred during the day.
