The Telegram boss beats up Apple for promoting “overpriced” {hardware} from the “Center Ages”.

Apple is known for a lot of things, especially its polished hardware and great software. However, the company also criticizes its not-so-affordable equipment and a software ecosystem that locks users into the famous “walled garden,” whose walls have grown taller over the years. However, privacy is one aspect that has been at the heart of Apple’s strategy, but not without compromise, as a recent report by TheNewYorkTimes points out. Telegram founder Pavel Durov – known for his support for user privacy – has now cited the report to launch a devastating attack on Apple.

Apple’s business is based on selling overpriced, outdated hardware to customers

Durov’s shame begins with Apple’s alleged approval of the demands of the notoriously surveillance and censorship-loving state of China, as technology giants often prioritize profits over ethics. Durov then violates Apple’s “totalitarian approach” which turns iPhone users into “digital slaves”. – something that the Chinese government should also advocate. And with Apple allegedly bowing to the will of the Chinese government, the state now has complete control over the data of all citizens who use an iPhone, he adds.

“If you have an iPhone, you are a digital slave to Apple. You can only use apps that Apple can install through the App Store, and you can only use Apple’s iCloud to natively back up your data.”

Speaking of iPhones, Durov equates it with the use of hardware from the Middle Ages. The Telegram boss goes on to blame Apple for selling “outdated, overpriced” hardware that it also firmly integrates into its software ecosystem. Durov specifically aims to ensure that iPhones still get stuck on a 60Hz display despite their high price, which means that animations and general user interface interactions are not as smooth as you get on Android phones with a 90 Hz or 120 Hz screen.

The post of Telegram chief Pavel Durov beat up Apple

Durov’s criticism here is justified as Android phones, which cost a fraction of a modern iPhone, have upgraded to 90Hz, 120Hz, or even 144Hz screens. Rumor has it that Apple is finally embracing the 120Hz trend, but that perk will supposedly be exclusive to the “Pro” models of its upcoming iPhones due to hit the market later this year, and they will most likely be a thousand dollars for the base model.
