Samsung has just taken the cover off its newest premium mid-ranger – the Galaxy A72. And I’ll say it right away – It’s a significant upgrade over its predecessor, adding some features that were previously reserved for Samsung flagships. Based on the design, Samsung created this combined effect for the camera body on the back, which looks pretty neat.
A 90 Hz AMOLED display, a 5,000 mAh battery and a cool IP67 profile
The back has a matte haze finish and is available in four color options: Awesome Black, Awesome Blue, Awesome Purple and Awesome Violet. I really like the new design language that Samsung is aiming for with its mid-rangers and it’s definitely sure to see that The build is IP67 certifiedwhich means a few accidental splashes won’t do any harm.
You get a 6.7-inch FHD + (2400 x 1080) pixel display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and rocks a centered hole punch. Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G (rumored to be) takes care of everything inside, ticking along with 6GB / 8GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB of onboard storage. Fortunately, there is the possibility of storage expansion via a microSD card with a capacity of up to 1 TB. And to keep the lights on there is A sufficiently large 5,000 mAh battery in the Galaxy A72.
Four rear cameras, highlighted by a 64-megapixel main and a 3x zoom camera
The latest Samsung offering has one Quad rear camera setup highlighted by an optically stabilized 64MP primary camera. It’s next to a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle snapper, a 5-megapixel macro shooter, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with OIS that delivers up to 3x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, the Galaxy A72 has a 32-megapixel front camera with fixed focus.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy A72 with a built-in fingerprint sensor for authentication, while Android 11 takes over the software. The company has given assurances that the Galaxy A72 will receive software updates for a period of four years. The device has Dolby Atmos-enabled stereo speakers and supports a music sharing function that allows playback on two sets of Bluetooth earbuds for listening to a friend.
In terms of pricing, the Galaxy A72 will set you back by 449 euros in Europe and 419 euros (about $ 550) in the UK for the base 6GB + 128GB variant. The phone is coming to the UK and Europe, but we don’t know about availability in the US yet.
