Samsung Galaxy S21 FE expectations allegedly moderated by the corporate

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was launched on October 2, 2020. The device was launched as a cheaper version of the main Galaxy S20 series. The device was a huge hit and was among Samsung’s top three sellers as it picked up sales of the original Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 series. Those numbers were one of the main reasons Samsung didn’t pull the plug when it launched the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. Nevertheless, the company already seems to accept that the cheaper version of the Galaxy S21 series will not be as popular as its predecessor.

According to a report by The Elec, Samsung has reduced expectations for its Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. The report claims that Samsung originally planned to mass-produce the device in the first half of 2021, which leads us to believe that Samsung wanted the device to hit shelves last month. However, the current chip shortage stood in the way of the company’s plans.

It is believed that the South Korean tech giant had its sales expectations set at around the middle of the 10 million units. Still, constant delays and the ongoing pandemic could have reduced Samsung’s target by 3 million units. Still, the company could now plan to begin mass production of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE this month, which means we may be able to launch the device in late October, as earlier rumors suggest.

Another reason for this possible change in production plans is that Samsung believes that the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE may receive less attention from customers who may plan to receive the new iteration of the Galaxy S series, which is only a few months away away. Still, the Galaxy S21 FE will be the new device of choice for anyone who isn’t interested in a new foldable smartphone, which means it could still perform well.

The report also mentions that Samsung may be preparing to start mass production of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series in November. This leads us to believe that we can see the launch of a new Galaxy S series all over again in January.

What about you? Are you planning to get a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE or are you waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series to start?
