Public thanked for serving to man critically inured in mobility scooter fall

Hampshire Police have thanked members of the public for helping a seriously injured man following a fall from a mobility scooter in Bridgemary, Gosport. According to police, the incident took place on Wednesday March 23 when an elderly male suffered broken bones from the fall on Gorselands Way.

One member of the public brought a blanket to keep the man warm. Officers still have it in their possession and have appealed for the owner to come forward. Other bystanders also offered support until officers arrived at the scene, waiting until an ambulance was available.

One of the officers, PC Austin, accommodated the injured man by positioning himself so that the elderly victim could lean on him and be as comfortable as possible. PC Austin’s colleague, PC Pragnell, noticed he was uncomfortable himself and she helped by sitting back-to-back in order to continue supporting the injured man.
