PSA: One UI 4.zero blocks some Z Fold Three and Z Flip Three gadgets

Samsung officially started rolling out the highly anticipated One UI 4.0 update for its foldable flagships Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 in South Korea a few days ago. As it turned out, there were some hidden issues with the latest version, and Samsung has now pulled the update as it has bricked some devices.

Spotted by SamMobile, Samsung rolled out the latest One UI 4.0 public update to the foldable flagships after users started reporting major issues. As it turned out, the latest public build was not stable and resulted in some users’ devices being bricked after upgrading their devices. Some of the reported issues include device bricking, the camera app stopped working on some, dual messenger didn’t work on some apps, screen flickering, reduced performance mode, and some also reported that the update sent the device into recovery mode has. There are other app-related issues such as: B. Streaming apps like Netflix that won’t open at all.

The software problem seems severe and it is not surprising that Samsung is pulling the update for the users of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3. Samsung has not announced a public statement on the issues, and we currently don’t know when we can expect the update to be re-released.

It is not clear when the update will resume, nor is it known which regions it will roll out to in the near future. Samsung is said to speak directly to affected users and actively work to find out what caused the problems. Samsung will likely fix the update soon and retest the software in select regions. However, this can mean that the update will not be rolled out until later than expected.
