Prepare for two fun-fuelled weekends on the East Lancs scooter festivals

The annual celebration of scooters is riding out through the streets of the Valley next month.

The Rossendale 60’s Festival is back on Saturday, September 10, and will be taking place around the town center and on to the Town Square.

There will be a parade of more than 60 scooters which will ride out through the valley in celebration of the festival weekend.

The festival provides another opportunity to dust off your flares, shorten your skirts and prepare yourself for a groovy weekend celebrating the iconic music, art and culture of the swinging sixties.

Rally in the Valley scooter show

The scooters will start off in Bacup around 11.30am, ‘suited and booted’ and riding through the valley via Market Street, Newchurch Road and Bacup Road.

They will continue throughout Rawtenstall and finish off in the Town Square. The riders will remain in the square, allowing time for people to view the wonderfully attired owners and their amazing scooters.

In addition to the scooter spectacle, people will be able to dabble in an exciting assortment of activities.

On Friday, September 9, there will be a 60’s themed karaoke at the Woolpack in Haslingden and the Tesco in the town will be hosting a 60’s quiz for customers and colleagues.

On the Saturday a Rock N’ Roll bingo evening will be taking place at the Haslingden Community Link from 7pm onwards. If you fancy something even livelier, The Hare and Hounds in Stacksteads are hosting The Reaction, who will be playing 60’s Mod classics from 9pm.

The Shepherds Inn in Haslingden Road, Rawtenstall will be hosting a ‘Songs of the 60’s night’ with live singers so there’s plenty to keep you busy all weekend.

The fun doesn’t stop there either. Just two weeks later, Ribble Valley Scooter Rally will be taking place in Clitheroe on September 23.

The annual three-day event with a scooter ride-in and live bands and DJs across the town is celebrating its 10th year.

The event is free to attend so make sure you clear your diaries for a jam-packed weekend full of retro themed fun.
