The OnePlus Health App gives us a first clear insight into the OnePlus Band
There are a few companies that are great at licking their own products, but let’s face it, nobody does it better than OnePlus. Earlier this week, they teased the design of their upcoming OnePlus band and showed off a corner of it. Now we can see everything. The company just listed an early stage access for its health app that records things like your heart rate, steps, sleep patterns, and more. You know the usual. In the description of the app, both a smartwatch and fitness bands are mentioned. Once you enter the app, you’ll be able to see the full design of the OnePlus Band, including the display that’s turned on. According to the leaks, the OnePlus Band will have a 1.1-inch AMOLED display with a battery life of around 14 days and a price tag of $ 40. However, it is first introduced in India. So yes, for the rest of the companies, take note .. How to Lick a Product
The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook is getting a successor at half the price
Let’s move on to Samsung, but back to the official news. Last year at CES, and I know I get flashbacks from trade shows, the company announced its Galaxy Chromebook, which started at $ 999. Well, the company just announced the successor, which is better priced, with a few logical changes that make sense for the type of product. Instead of a 4K OLED, it now has a 13.3-inch QLED FHD display. The entry-level model is powered by an Intel Celeron 5205U, Intel UDH Graphics, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. The higher tier variant is powered by an Intel Core i3 and offers up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. You get 2 USB Type-C ports and a microSD card reader. Of course, it runs on Chrome OS and offers other functions such as Wi-Fi 6, S-Pen support and stereo speakers. What gets interesting is that it now starts at just $ 549 while the higher tier costs $ 699. We named last year’s unit one of our best at CES, and I think it’s an easier accolade now, given the price drop and the updates. I actually prefer QLED displays.
We’re getting new details on the possible iPad update from Apple
A couple of weeks ago, we discussed some rumors that Apple was preparing to update the entry-level iPad that was updated last year. According to a new report from Mac Otakara, the new iPad would arrive with the same 10.2-inch display we get for the current model, but as noted in other reports, it will take on some design elements from the old iPad Air. This means that we get a significantly thinner device, more or less 6.3 mm thick compared to the current 7.5 mm. The new design also weighs around 30 g less than the current model. The report also claims that this iPad will still have the home button, meaning Touch ID is still active, and that Cupertino will also be using a Lightning port over USB-C for this iPad. Earlier reports also claim that this iPad will bring Cupertino’s A13 Bionic with 4GB of RAM and bring it down to $ 299. Rumor has it we should get it by spring 2021, but let’s see how we got the last one in September.
Galaxy Z Flip 3 renders suggest a Galaxy S21-like camera module and larger external display
Let’s go back to Samsung and discuss the Galaxy Z Flip 3 as we know we got the first generation model with the S20 last year, but it looks like we’ll have to wait until the third quarter of this year. Now we have some renders of the possible design of Let’s Go Digital showing what we could get this fall. Now we don’t know if this is fan-made or for real, as this is both early on and because this design comes from a Korean forum and includes elements from the Galaxy S21’s design in terms of camera and lilac color variant with gold hinge and accents. On the front we have almost the same design as last year, but with the gold accents. Probably the most interesting thing here is the outer display, which offers a lot more space than last year and shows you the time, date and battery. It offers a lot more space for notifications. Even if we are skeptical, I hope this will actually be the final design because I really like it.
Kuo: The hardware of the iPhone camera could get better by 2023
And finally, for the hottest news today, let’s talk about Apple and the iPhone 13 again as the rumors won’t slow down even if we’re early. According to the latest report from Ming Chi Kuo, the three main usual lens suppliers will be hired by Apple to supply the components for the 2021 iPhones. However, after looking at the technologies and production lines, Kuo concluded that the iPhone’s camera could not be significantly improved in the next two generations. Of course, this does not mean that the overall performance of the camera will remain the same. There is still room for substantial improvement in terms of software, as Google has been doing for years. So it looks like Apple is working on perfecting its computer photography, and they think these lenses are good enough to last a few generations longer. If you’ve checked out the previous Pocketnow Daily, Apple seems to want to focus on the display for the iPhone 13 by shrinking the notch and eventually bringing a high refresh rate LTPO display.
