Percepto New Autonomous Drone Inspection

Percepto introduces new drone and AI-based analyzes for the AIM platform

By DRONELIFE Staff Writer Ian M. Crosby

Percepto, the leader in autonomous inspection and surveillance solutions, today announced the launch of its updated 2022 Autonomous Inspection & Monitoring (AIM) platform, as well as its new Air Mobile drone. Recently listed in TIME magazine’s 100 Best Inventions of 2021, Percepto offers the only end-to-end AI-powered solution for collating and optimizing all visual data for accurate actionable insights.

Percepto’s new Insight Manager AIM 2022 provides AI-powered package solutions for industry-specific use cases, including industries like solar, mining, energy, oil & gas and more. Leveraging tens of thousands of hours accumulated through autonomous robotic missions in industrial plants, Percepto’s change detection AI framework delivers unified visual data and critical business insights for each of the industry-specific solutions. AIM 2022 can be integrated into autonomous drones and robots in addition to other visual data collectors such as DJI drones and fixed cameras. Reports and insights are automatically generated based on the combined visual data. Any problems or malfunctions are distributed to relevant stakeholders via mobile devices, geotagged and displayed on a map to enable effective action to be taken before they become major problems.

Percepto also unveiled its new Percepto Air offerings to support the improved platform that meets the diverse needs and increasing demands of the market:

  • The Percepto Air Max, the next generation of Percepto Sparrow, is a field-proven solution that is used in the largest mining, oil and gas and energy companies on six different continents. The Air Max has a premium, versatile payload for specific use cases. Designed for the inspection and mapping of complex industrial environments where maximum accuracy and durability are critical, Air Max is the only Drone-in-a-Box (DIB) solution with Optical Gas Imaging (OGI).
  • The Percepto Air Mobile is a new, more compact and lighter model for smaller sites or organizations taking their first steps with a drone-in-box program, or for larger sites that need improved operational flexibility. Air Mobile is perfect for linear inspections such as pipelines and power lines and is capable of overseeing short-term projects in multiple locations.

Percepto Air Max and Air Mobile drones are permanently stored on site in their corresponding Percepto base – the base of the Air Mobile is light and easy to move while at the same time offering the highest level of durability. The Percepto Base enclosures require only occasional maintenance and are designed to protect against extreme environmental phenomena such as hurricanes. The Air Max and Air Mobile are secure and compliant, and guarantee that all operational aspects meet company standards.

“Percepto AIM 2022 and the new Percepto Air drone line, along with the most advanced change detection solution, warn and prevent outages and downtime in various use cases in many industries,” said Dor Abuhasira, CEO of Percepto. “Percepto AIM offers the most advanced and comprehensive inspection software for companies that offers a complete data workflow – from capture to inspection. With Percepto Air Max and Percepto Air Mobile, companies have a number of options to choose from, depending on the size of their facilities and the flexibility required to use drones. “

“The real strength of Percepto’s system is that it integrates data collection and analysis for a holistic view from both a technical and a management perspective,” said Tim Shanfelt, director of operations transformation, Koch Ag and Energy. “Our employees are connected to high-level information that helps them make the right decisions while remaining safe and free to engage in higher-value activities. Our goal is to eliminate dangerous, wasteful and everyday tasks from our operators’ daily lives. Instead of climbing an icy ladder in winter, for example, a robot or drone can take on the same task and still carry out precise measurements. We see Percepto play an important role in making our facilities safer, more efficient and more profitable. “
