Oppo teases the gorgeous design of the retractable rear view digicam in new video

Chinese electronics giant Oppo has used social media to showcase a stunning new retractable camera design ahead of its annual Inno Day event.

The company revealed what it calls a “proprietary retractable camera” through its official Twitter account and appeared to be promising more details at the event, held December 14-15 in Shenzhen, China next week to be announced.

The video shows the camera popping out of the back of a mysterious phone and being pulled back again, suggesting that the device is waterproof.

We can also read a lot from the markings that are visible on the system. They indicate a 1 / 1.56-inch sensor with an f / 2.4 aperture and a 50mm equivalent lens.

It is important to note that Inno Day is focused on concepts and technology development. At last year’s event, the company showed off things like AR glasses and a roll-up phone.

In other words, we shouldn’t necessarily expect such a module to appear on the company’s next flagship – likely a successor to this year’s excellent Oppo Find X3 Pro.

So far, leaks have indicated that the rumored Find X4 Pro comes with a super-fast 80W charging system, while Oppo has confirmed that it is powered by the newly renamed Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.

We may learn a little more next week, either directly or indirectly, but so far Inno Day 2021 has focused on Oppo’s first Neutral Processing Unit (NPU) as well as its new data glasses.
