On this means, Apple takes the iPhone 13 to a decrease degree

We’re still a few months away from the launch of the new iPhone 13 lineup, and it seems like we’re finally going to see the notch get smaller. We have received several reports, rumors, and predictions claiming Apple can finally solve the problem that started in 2017. The solution does not include changes to the design of the phone, as we saw a few days ago Several renderings of a possible iPhone M1, created by designer Antonio de Rosa. Instead, Apple could have done this by reducing the size of the Face ID chip.

The latest report claims Apple found a way to downsize its Face ID chip, which would eventually allow the company to reduce the size of the notch in the upcoming iPhone 13 lineup. The notch currently contains several components: a speaker, microphone, and all of the hardware required for facial recognition. These include a point projector, the front camera, an infrared camera, a floodlight, a proximity sensor, and an ambient light sensor that work together to provide ultra-secure facial recognition capabilities for users. Well, those aren’t the only components housed in the notch as more of them work behind the scenes. This is the case with the VCSEL chip, which is responsible for processing Face ID images.

The good news is that Apple may now have found a way to reduce the size of the VCSEK chip by 40 to 50 percent, according to Digitimes. This information was the first time we received similar information from the Japanese site MacOtakara in January, followed by a report by Ming-Chi Kuo two months ago. Digitimes also suggests that this new and smaller VCSEL chip will also be available in iPads. Now we can also think that Apple might have tried reducing the size of the notch by removing the speaker and microphone from the notch and moving them onto the bezel, but only time will tell.
