Nothing reveals the principle characteristic or value for upcoming earphones

We’ve heard about Carl Pei’s new company Nothing for a while, but it was all teasers and other promotional material to get us excited. The company has now finally confirmed that it will launch its first wireless earbud, the Nothing Ear (1), this summer.

The company has finally announced that its first product will be called Nothing Ear (1), but while the name is likely to represent the first generation, it is currently unknown. On the other hand, it has been known to have a “modern Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) that uses three high-definition microphones to focus your music, movies and podcasts”.

Carl Pei was also interviewed by TechCrunch where he revealed the award and shared some more important information such as the following:

“Because we will primarily focus on online sales channels, we will be able to [make it] – I wouldn’t say “affordable”, but a fair price for consumers. Realization with the ear (1) is much more expensive than with a standard, non-transparent design. I think it will be a good price at $ 99, EUR 99, and £ 99. In terms of features, it is similar to the AirPods Pro, but the AirPods Pro is $ 249. “

In an interview, he also revealed why he bought Essential in February:

“Before we were called ‘Nothing’, ‘Essential’ was one of the names we thought about internally,” Pei said. “That’s why we acquired the brand. We don’t intend to do anything with Essential. “

Nothing also confirmed that the Nothing Ear 1 will cost $ 99, € 99 and £ 99, respectively. It is sold through retailers like Selfridges. At the upcoming Sound of Change launch event on July 27th, Nothing will officially unveil its first product. If you’re interested in the full interview, you can read more here.
