Man rushed to hospital with critical harm after e-scooter crash in Caterham

A man was hospitalized after being involved in an e-scooter collision in Caterham on Wednesday afternoon (April 7).

According to police, the man, who was not identified, suffered serious injuries during the incident, which police say no other vehicle was involved.

In a statement, Surrey Police said officials were called to reports of a “single vehicle collision” with an e-scooter on Church Hill in Caterham around 2:10 pm this afternoon.

The road was subsequently closed to all traffic, and Church Hill will remain closed to Caterham Railway Station at the intersections with Stansted Road – at St. Mary’s Church – and Harestone Valley this evening from 5:30 p.m.

Surrey Police said, “If you witnessed the incident or have any information that may aid our investigation, please contact us on incident number P21072174.”
