WAYNE COUNTY, PA (WBNG) – A Pennsylvania man was killed and a New York man was arrested shortly after noon on Sunday after a scooter accident in Wayne County.
According to a report from the Pennsylvania State Police, Charles Schroedel, 57, of Hawley was killed when his 2011 Honda PCX scooter was hit by a 2014 Ford Fusion driven by Anthony Martin Barry, 59, of Maspeth.
Police say Barry’s vehicle drove south on State Route 507 and Schroedel drove north on the same road. The crash occurred when Barry turned around in front of the scooter to drive south on State Route 196, according to a police report.
Police said when he interviewed Barry about the crash, “he showed signs of poisoning and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI.
