Doha: Mowasalat (Karwa) entered the micromobility business today with the introduction of e-scooters at The Pearl-Qatar.
The high-tech e-scooters with app function are available to visitors and residents of The Pearl-Qatar from today, December 6th, as a practical means of transport.
Users need to download the Falcon Ride app to unlock the scooters and they will be charged QR2 for unlocking and 50 dirhams for every minute of use.
The scooters are available at 5 subway stations – West Bay, Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, Al Qassar, Katara and Legtaifiya as a last mile solution for subway commuters, a company official said.
The new service works with Falcon Ride and is supported by the United Development Company (UDC).
“We supported this great sustainable initiative as part of our strategy to connect people with convenient transportation solutions across Qatar,” said Khalid Kafoud, Mowasalat (Karwa) media and government relations manager.
“We are constantly relying on future-oriented solutions to make our services easily and securely available to everyone. In short, we are confident that we will soon make Mowasalat (Karwa) a part of everyone’s everyday life, ”he added.
“This launch with Mowasalat (Karwa) shows that it makes sense to work with property owners and the public sector to provide electronic micromobility transportation.
We will look to work with other companies to advance our goal of providing last mile connectivity solutions that will help Qatar achieve its goals for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and Qatar 2030 Vision, ”said Hussain Abdulla, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Falcon Ride.
