It is all the trend to be sq. with the newest in true wi-fi earbuds from Audio-Technica

Audio-Technica has unveiled a distinctive pair of true wireless earbuds available in six colors with a square design.

In addition to the traditional black and white, the ATH-SQ1TW are available in caramel, blueberry (blue) and cupcake (light brown) as well as popsicles (red and white) and all have touch controls on the buds themselves. Even the splash-proof IPX4 housing is color-coded depending on your choice.

They’re also reasonably priced for what they offer, hitting the $ 90 / £ 80 mark, undercutting the multitude of competitors around the $ 100 / £ 100 price point, including Apple’s AirPods 2.

The battery life is impressive for the earbuds themselves at 6.5 hours, but you only get two charges inside the case instead of the four you get on many (more expensive) True Wireless headphones.

However, there is fast charging with around an hour of playback after a 15-minute charge.

They should also sound like pretty decent sound for the hassle, with 5.8mm drivers. As always, the proof lies in listening.

They also have a transparency mode so you can hear surrounding sounds through the headphones if you so choose. There is also a sidetone feature if you need to talk to others without removing the headphones.

As you would expect, the ATH-SQ1TW will automatically turn on when they are removed from the case and turn off when they are replaced.
