The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, see our full review, is my new daily driver and I keep finding ways to optimize my productivity with this fantastic device. Thanks to the generous trade-in pre-order offers from Samsung, I also ordered my own Galaxy Z Flip 3, see our review and plan to install one of them on this device as well.
ZAGG offers InvisibleShield protectors for several models of mobile technology, including smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and Nintendo Switch gaming devices. I also just ordered a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic so stay tuned for our full review and plan on adding one of the available protectors on this watch face when it arrives.
For the past few weeks I have been using these new phones with both protectors and have enjoyed worry-free interaction with the displays. My fingers slide over the displays, there are no scratches on the protectors and the clarity is not affected at all.

Ultra Clear for Galaxy Z Fold 3
Samsung includes a high quality screen protector that is almost invisible because it is so well integrated into the large main display. I am not removing this main screen protector and I recommend leaving it in place. Samsung offers a service to replace this protector in the event it fails, but I haven’t seen any issues with it on previous Fold devices.
On the other hand, the included screen protector is an extremely thin piece of thin, wrinkled plastic, so I couldn’t wait to replace it with something more durable and protective. On my Z Fold 2, that screen protector scratched within weeks and it looked awful, so I expect the same with the Z Fold 3.
The ZAGG InvisibleShield Ultra Clear with D3O is available now for $ 39.99. It was developed to provide splinter protection and scratch resistance while also providing an antimicrobial treatment to the cover display. The D3O technology was developed to distribute the effects of energy to the display, whereby the intelligent molecules heal small scratches and dents themselves.
After removing the horrific Samsung protector, I put the Z Fold 3 in the alignment compartment and then thoroughly cleaned the cover display. The alignment pocket has pegs of different sizes and spacings at each end of the compartment so you can quickly and easily make sure you are correctly positioning the screen protector over the four pegs with the four alignment holes on the protective film.
As with other InvisibleShield protectors, be sure to watch the video or read the installation guide if you haven’t already used them as there are a few important steps to take to get it right. There is an alignment and dust removal step followed by removing the protector from the center and working to the end with a unique sliding removal / installation process for each end. Then you take off the top layer and smooth everything over. I installed many of these and was able to install them flawlessly with no bubbles and a perfect fit.
I didn’t realize how inferior the standard protection was until I installed this InvisibleShield protection. The cover display now feels a lot smoother as my finger effortlessly slides over the glossy finish. The display also appears to be more touch sensitive than before, even with a thicker protector. I look forward to months of use with this protector. When you pick one up, make sure you register it as ZAGG offers a limited lifetime warranty in the event it becomes worn or damaged.

Ultra Clear for Galaxy Z Flip 3
One of the best improvements to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the significantly larger cover display. It’s a very easy-to-use display with notifications, widgets, and camera controls all available without ever opening the phone. I’ve spent a lot of time using the phone with the device closed and I find the new cover display to be essential to the Z Flip 3 experience.
In contrast to the Z Fold 3, Samsung does not include a protector for the cover display of the Z Flip 3. It’s a small display, but it’s always exposed and with the device’s compact shape you’ll likely toss it in your front pocket where there could be coins, keys, or other items to scratch it. ZAGG is offering the InvisibleShield Ultra Clear with D3O for this display for US $ 39.99.
The price tag seems high for the size of the screen protector, and since people don’t watch videos or spend so much time looking at objects on the display, there may not be a strong desire to keep them free from scuffs. ZAGG offers the same D3O technology and features found on the Z Fold 3 cover’s screen protector, including antimicrobial treatment and self-healing technology.
The screen protector was easily installed using the black plastic alignment tray and the EZ Apply installation process. The screen protector has two openings for the dual cameras and is also case-friendly, so it works well with cases that you install on your Z Flip 3.
