OnePlus 9 Lite rocks the Snapdragon 865 SoC and debuts alongside the OnePlus 9 Duo: Report
For a couple of years now we’ve heard that OnePlus may be working on a “Lite” variant with watered down specs to match their flagships, but all we’ve got is the Nord series, which is something of its own separate lineup . According to a new Android Central report, OnePlus will introduce a OnePlus 9 Lite along with OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. This is the second important change in its core strategy. The report claims that the 9 Lite will be powered by the Snapdragon 865, as opposed to the flagship variants that will most likely pack an 888 5G. Unfortunately, this is the only information we currently have as the design elements and the rest of the specifications are not yet known. However, the report mentions that 3-4 cameras are packed on the back. We’ll see what we get, this will most likely be a competitor to phones like the Galaxy S20 FE, at least in terms of price … and let’s face it, the Snapdragon 865 isn’t a lite smartphone.
In the “privacy vs business” war with Apple, Facebook is criticized from within
For the fun news today, let’s talk about Facebook and their latest privacy debacle when they attacked Apple in newspapers because it seems that even Facebook doesn’t trust the ramifications of their own social network. In case you missed it, Facebook has published a series of ads in major newspapers saying that Apple is the bad guy who is preventing them from tracking your information and that they are the good guys who are trying to protect small businesses. Wait, it gets more ridiculous. Buzzfeed News has just restored several comments from Facebook staff who actually feel we feel about the campaign. To name a few, one staff member said, “It seems like we’re trying to justify a bad thing by hiding behind people with a compassionate message.” Another said that the people at the top are just as good could say like, “People are better off if they don’t know what we’re doing, if we don’t have to explain, people can’t opt out.” . Of course we’re not trying to take things out of context, but it’s just crazy and funny how your own co-workers proclaim your sanctimonious practices. We’ll see what ultimately happens, when Facebook doesn’t approve of Apple’s practices, they’ll be removed from the App Store.
Apple could give us a gaming-focused Apple TV in 2021
Let’s move on to Apple for a few segments, starting with one of the products we thought we’d get this year, a new Apple TV. According to a new Bloomberg report, Apple will have a new Apple TV in 2021 with a few changes. Mark Gurman claims Apple is planning an “updated box” with a stronger focus on gaming, an updated remote control and a new processor. Some of the changes will fix the issues with the 2015 Apple TV box, but Apple wants to take another big leap to keep the Apple TV competitive in the long run. Some of the changes previously reported by Bloomberg include integration for the Find My app so you can easily find the remote in case you lose it frequently. Other reports claim that it is powered by the A14, allowing you to play Apple Arcade games that wouldn’t be available on the current Apple TVs. So yeah, we’re assuming it will fall sometime next year. Let us know if you’re excited about it in the comments.
Apple could finally start building its own car in 2024, Reuters bomb claims
Let’s talk about Apple again and … cars, yes. For years, and I mean years, we’ve heard that Apple is working on a car, maybe a self-driving one, but these new rumors are making it sound like this thing is actually happening. Apple’s vehicle plans are back on track, according to a new report from Reuters, and the company is actually aiming for “2024 production of a passenger car that could contain its own breakthrough battery technology.” To expand on that, this new battery design claims to be more space efficient, offer an increase in vehicle switching, and it is apparently “radically” cheap too. Cupertino is actually experimenting with other battery technologies that companies like Tesla are also exploring. As a fun fact, Elon Musk actually said how the battery technology was going, adding that he actually offered to sell Tesla to Tim Cook if they had problems, but Tim wouldn’t take the meeting. So far, however, none of this is set in stone. However, Reuters mentions that due to issues related to pandemics, production could move forward through 2025 or beyond. Apple still has a long way to go to production, although it has reportedly been in contact with suppliers for various source parts. There is also the possibility that they will scrap this “passenger vehicle” again and concentrate on a self-driving system. So yeah, this thing made a lot of trending, but let us know if you’re interested in an Apple Car?
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra adds support for S Pen pens, the FCC listing confirms
And finally for the hottest news today, yeah one more time, let’s talk about the Galaxy S21 again as it is clearly the hottest topic that has been around. This year has been strange for Galaxy S leaks as we heard that the Galaxy Note might go away to focus on foldable objects and that the S Pen is coming to the S line. Well, the Galaxy S21 Ultra just got FCC certification, which means we’re about to launch and reveal some interesting things. First we get the official model number. However, the certification mentions that “the EUT can also be used with a pen device (S Pen) and that it also works with the S Pen in two different inductive coupling modes of S Pen motion detection. This most likely means that you can use it as a regular pen and of course with Samsung’s motion features. The database also includes support for Wi-Fi 6E as well as UWB technology. The leaks in the S21 Ultra also include the Snapdragon 888 5G or the Exynos 2100 with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. We should also have 4 cameras on the back that contain a 108MP main sensor, a 12MP Ultra Wide, a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom, and another 10MP telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom. With a rumored starting price of around $ 1250, that could actually be higher, but back to the S Pen.
