GoPro’s Karma drone makes its debut on September 19th – TechCrunch

What is GoPro? Will you bring you to the drone photography table? We’ll find out on September 19th, according to the action camera maker’s official Twitter account. They posted a short teaser for the upcoming karma Drone originally due in the first half of 2016 before a delay.

It took a long time to reveal GoPro for Karma. The company first mentioned its aerial camera project in May 2015 when Nick Woodman, CEO of GoPro, was GoPro CEO at the code conference existed as something they were working on. Then, in October, the company released its first sneak peek of footage from the camera-equipped quadcopter, which you can see below. Things have probably improved since then, but even then, stabilization and image quality looked impressive, as it should be for a controlled public preview released by the company itself.

We also saw possible leaks in what the GoPro Karma itself might look like, although these are not confirmed. The image was supposedly taken by GoPro’s own servers and appears to depict a slim, black quadcopter body with a motorized gimbal mount for holding the GoPro camera itself.

GoPro will stream the reveal on September 19th from GoPro.com. So tune in if you’re interested in what they have to offer.
