From creator Dave Krause of Influential Drones:

This coming weekend on Saturday June 18th the Federal Aviation Administration is promoting Drone Safety Day. It is a community outreach event. In previous years, Safety Day was recognized as Safety Week. This year, the FAA is trying something different. https://www.faa.gov/uas/events/drone_… I have chosen to reach out, because several have met me in person and know that I, like many of you, own my own drone business. I am passionate about aviation and because of that, I volunteer to promote aviation safety for the benefit of all. Why am I helping you? Because Aviation is Family, we all must work together. Without question, we have all seen the increase in publicity of unmanned systems in the media. Drones have been used for good as well as bad depending on your perspective and point of view. To me, it is clear that more drones are taking to the skies as many realize the value these flying computers provide. For that reason, I am asking for your participation. Whether you are a manufacturer, a service or training provider, an enthusiast, investor, public safety agency or non-profit membership association, this is important to you. This industry will not grow in a proper way until we educate those who don’t know better. We must have a safety culture in place, what you do when no-one is looking. The easiest way to promote a safety culture is to share a common message as a unified aviation community. – One Voice –
