Suzuki Motorcycles is said to be working on the launch of a new electric scooter in the Indian market. The new electric scooter is said to be based on the popular Burgman Street 125 brand maxi scooter offering, which is based on spy images used to test the upcoming model for the first time.
Now the new Suzuki Burgman Street electric scooter has been spied again, this time by IndianAutosBlog. The spy pictures show a much clearer picture of the upcoming Suzuki electric scooter.
As can be seen from the spy images, the upcoming Suzuki Burgman Street electric scooter has a nearly identical design to its conventional gasoline-powered model. This includes the same set of headlights, the front bonnet, the front apron with the integrated indicators, as well as the side and rear panels.
However, the side panels can now be seen with blue accents in the lower part. This blue color can also be seen near the handlebars, which is most likely the only cosmetic difference between the electric and the standard version of the scooter.
Another difference is the lack of exhaust pipes near the rear wheel. The right side of the scooter can now be seen with the suspension mounted on the swing arm, which is on the left side of the standard version.
Suzuki recently unveiled the Burgman Street 125 with a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. We expect the brand to further develop the same instrument cluster for the electric version. The digital display also offers turn-by-turn navigation, message and call notifications and other vehicle statistics when connected to the smartphone via an app.
However, there is currently no information available on the electric powertrain that will power the new Suzuki Burgman Street EV. However, we expect it to be in the same stadium as its competitors such as the Bajaj Chetak electric, the TVS iQube electric and even the Ather 450X.
Thoughts on the Suzuki Burgman Street Electric Scooter Spy Tests
The Suzuki Burgman Street electric scooter is currently in the early stages of development. While there is no official word from the brand, we expect the Suzuki electric scooter to hit the market by the end of next year.
